FARLEIGH HOUSE WEDDING | AN ELEGANT SUMMER WEDDING IN BATH | BATH WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER | SOUTH WEST WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER
“Claire!!!! We are absolutely OBSESSED, I cannot stop staring at them. Thank you!!! We are so grateful to you for making us feel so at ease for the whole day, your energy is exactly what we needed to help us relax in front of the camera and we truly loved spending so much of the day with you.”
Tor + Ollie
Farleigh House is the kind of luxury wedding venue in Somersetthat instantly makes you feel as though you have been transported straight to a private estate in France or the rolling hills of Italy. For Tor and Ollie, a couple deeply tuned into editorial styling and personal aesthetics, this historic Somerset gem was the perfect backdrop for an architectural, fashion-forward wedding celebration.
As a Bristol and South West wedding photographer specializing in timeless storytelling and modern elegance, capturing their day on a mixture of digital and 35mm film was an absolute dream. Tor and Ollie completely made the day their own, eschewing standard traditions to craft an atmosphere that felt sophisticated, intentional, and effortlessly cool.
The wedding morning began in the breathtaking bridal suite at Farleigh House. Bathed in soft, natural light pouring through large character windows, Tor spent a relaxed morning with her bridal party getting ready. Her hair was styled into romantic, effortless waves by the talented, Bristol-based Faith of Faithful Hair Styling, flawlessly complementing her modern bridal look.
Tor wore the Ezra gown by Jenny Yoo— a sculptural masterpiece that perfectly bridges classic elegance and contemporary bridal fashion.
Meanwhile, Ollie prepared just a short drive away at a stylish Airbnb in the historic city of Bath. Embodying a refined, understated luxury, he looked incredible in a classic white double-breasted tuxedo jacket with a black bow tie—an ultra-chic take on warm-weather black tie style that felt reminiscent of vintage European glamour.
The ceremony took place on the manicured garden grounds at the front of the main building, positioned beautifully outside the chapel. Surrounded by grand stone architecture and striking, structured topiary, the setting felt deeply private and romance-driven.
The incredible floral design was curated by Beth, the owner of Daughter Bloom Weddings and new South West wedding venue, Minerva Vines. She designed organic, structural installations that enhanced the historic stone façade without overpowering it, creating a perfect frame for Tor and Ollie’s vows. For any fashion-forward couple dreaming of an outdoor wedding ceremony in the South West, the estate grounds at Farleigh House offer an unparalleled sense of scale and European romance.
As the evening progressed and the energy shifted toward the dancefloor, Tor made a high-fashion outfit change that completely set the tone for the night. Swapping her structured gown for the shimmering Aura dress by Retroféte, she spar like a discoball under the party lights. The juxtaposition of the historic venue with a high-octane, modern party outfit is exactly what makes contemporary South West weddings so exciting to document.
